The CERN Foundation is committed to improving the care and outcome of people with ependymoma through community support and research efforts. Through the funding of a postdoctoral fellowship, the CERN Foundation supports training opportunities.
Training opportunities for scientists working in ependymoma with the goal of advancing the science of ependymoma and to encourage ependymoma research.
This fellowship will provide two years of funding for a promising postdoctoral researcher who has the potential to become a productive, independent investigator within the broad scope of biomedical research focused in ependymoma. The second year of funding is considered through competitive renewal based on submission of required progress reports during the first year.
It is expected that the fellow and host institution will submit a six month and end of year report on their activities, findings, and publications resulting from the fellowship in writing. All reports must be submitted within three months of fellowship completion.
The applicant must have received the PhD (or equivalent research degree) or a professional degree such as the M.D., or D.V.M., and be nominated by a host institution that has an established ependymoma research program. This host institution must explicitly express a willingness to supervise the training and research experience of the fellow during this period.
