How do I talk to my family about my cancer diagnosis?

Telling family and friends about a spinal or brain tumor is painful and difficult, but sharing with supportive people will help you move forward. During this time, your family and friends might ask questions about your cancer diagnosis, some of which you cannot answer. However, it is important to be honest, even with children. Those close to you should be familiar with your course of treatment, so they can understand what you will be going through, both physically and emotionally. Encourage family and friends to ask questions both of you and those providing your treatment.
